National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a flagship activity of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The objective is to identify talented honour and nurture talented students of class 10th by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. NTSE is conducted in two phases: State level (November) & National Level, generally in May.
NTSE is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarship exams in India. An NTSE scholar commands tremendous respect in the society. Around 1000 NTSE Scholars are finally awarded scholarships based on Stage – II to the candidates for pursuing courses in sciences and social sciences up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second-degree level subject to the fulfilment of the conditions.
A NTSE scholar is entitled to a Scholarship amount of 1250 per month for class 11 & 12 and 2000 per month for graduates & post graduates. If you are going for Ph.D. scholarship is given according to UGC norms.
In stage 1 there is No negative Marking. In stage 2 one third of the marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
